Is koyanskaya of light evil? ›

Unlike her other seen counterparts, including the main counterpart of Tamamo-No-Mae, that are adapational heroism to the original Tamamo no Mae from Japanese myths, Koyanskaya is a malicious and cruel villain, just like the very same monster she was based upon.

Koyanskaya is the manifestation of the Tunguska Event and the embodiment of all the animals persecuted by humanity, she does not even possess a true name, the closest description of what one could describe as her true name would be “Tunguska Event”.

While she shares a name with Tamamo Vitch Koyanskaya, they are unrelated.

After she is detected, Koyanskaya tries to ambush Ritsuka, but Captain protects them. She unveils herself, shocking Goredolf into abruptly revealing her True Name: Tamamo Vitch.

It's after her calling herself a Tamamo from another world in profile, which was a lie for no reason. She is not just "not a Tamamo", but also is a nature spirit (elemental) who has no name ("she failed to acquire a name as a Beast, therefore her name is Beast IV: Lost" in the Beast's profile).

The only human Koyanskaya has ever expressed any respect for is Hugh Hefner, who impressed her with his arrogance, work ethic, and disregard for the opinions of others. As a blessing from the Alien God, Tamamo Vitch has the ability to move between Losebelts.

In the Nasuverse, Tamamo-no-Mae is a soul originating directly from the sun goddess Amaterasu as a Divided Spirit and therefore a higher order of being than the Earth Spirit of myth.

Tamamo-no-Mae was a beautiful 12^th century courtesan, who harboured a secret plan to kill the Japanese emperor Toba. That wasn't her only secret: she was also actually a fox spirit complete with not one, but nine tails.

All in all, at least Tamamo's origin explains how nine different characters who resemble her can all come from one source and live in one universe. And dividing her spirit into nine beings, each with different characteristics, has led to some excellent looking collectible figures.
