I have been really delayed in starting my fundraising this year for Cycle for Survival. College decisions, huge work project, life…"I don't have time". It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and say "I don't have time" to do the things we care about. But for the past decade, I've made time to ride in Cycle for Survival - this year marks my 10th year. I ride to support Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's research and to help "buy time" for our loved ones battling cancer. That's what MSK did for me and does for many, many others.Cycle for Survival not only provides crucial research funding but also ensures that donations quickly make it into the labs of MSK doctors and scientists. Every dollar counts, and through today only, every contribution will be matched, doubling your impact. Contribute a small amount today and help us buy more time for those fighting cancer. https://lnkd.in/eR2dMR6F

Black women are 8% less likely to be diagnosed with cancer than white women but 12% more likely to die if diagnosed. Decades of underrepresentation in clinical research, means less effective interventions. Let’s fix that. Today, The American Cancer Society took an important step forward towards improving outcomes and reducing disparities. As a board member with ACS, I ask you to please take the time to learn more and check your eligibility at https://voices.cancer.org.

Over the years I have had the privilege of working with some amazing brands– some of the biggest in the world and some that you’ve likely haven’t heard of.Of all the brands I have partnered with, Touch, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance is one of my all-time favorites. Why? Because the passion and energy the fearless leader/CEO of TOUCH BBCA Ricki Fairley brings to every single day is otherworldly and so inspiring. So when SNR Creative was awarded four of the prestigious AMA Houston – American Marketing Association Crystal Awards (especially Judge’s Choice!) for our work on the When We Tri(al) campaigned, I was overjoyed. Primarily because the work we partner with TOUCH BBCA to do saves lives – and we have the data to prove it!If you work in a function like Marketing/Business Communications/Design, and anyone has ever told you or made you feel like the work you are doing is not “core to the business” or “value-add,” know that I see you and I feel you. And most importantly know, those naysayers are not correct. I know without a shadow of a doubt that strategic, thoughtful marketing/business communications is worth a lot. A whole lot. And in the case of the When We Tri(al) Movement, thoughtful, strategic content and design has given hope, courage and in some cases extended the life and quality of life for nearly 10,000 Black Women with a breast cancer diagnosis… all in just one year.So that said, to all the business communicators (content and design), keep going, keep thinking big, keep helping people connect the dots, see things more clearly, etc. with your work. You never know who is watching, but what you should know for sure is that you are making an impact.Onward.#marketing #graphicdesign #causemarketing #contentmarketingstrategy #strategicmarketing #strategicdesign #strategicthinking #breastcancer #breasthealth #clinicaltrials #design
