Author Melchor Rosario is able assisted by illustrators Deb Babco*ck, Dhana Thiruvananthapuram, Irina Kapustina, and Marina in creating this charming book that celebrates love and all that love represents. Though we are offered no biographical data about the author Melchor has published almost ten books – both in Spanish and English – and reading his short 24 REASONS WHY I LOVE YOU strongly suggests there will be more!

The book contains, as the title suggests, 24 vignettes of beautiful poetic moments or thoughts which are accompanied by a full page of an artwork. And example follows: XX ‘An expression of elegance endures across the distance. It stops, instantly in front of my window, marking the transparent glass of my soul with an absolute tenderness. Timidly I lift up my eyes and inadvertently I find myself in your presence, your sweet smile, your restless eyes and with that accursed gentleness of yours that softens my soul, making me useless, cowardly, and more than that, an unthinking rag doll when your gaze falls upon me. Who are you? What are you? You, who effortlessly break the chains of my past, leaving me naked, semi-translucent and demented before the sight of your lips. Oh! How I want you near me, at this moment, to feel even for a second the breathing of your breath; to brush your lips with mine so that you discover that despite the distance, of your photos on the Internet where you seem to live another life, happy, surrounded by comments and sincere friends, you still think of me, and I about you.’

Or as Melchors’s summary states,’ The book is about the kind of love that makes you rediscover who you really are and changes you into a completely different person. It tells you about the best kind of love, that awakens our soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and bring peace to our mind and soul. A collection of million tiny things, lead you to the path of true love. When we start to underestimate little things, we forget the true meaning of love. This is a book that takes you on a journey where you will rediscover the meaning of love and how it truly lies in simple things. Selflessly, you start to dwell for the likelihood of someone else's happiness, this is called ethereal love. The book makes you feel like love is a sea where little insignificant things can form tidy and huge waves of bliss and happiness. This is a Valentine but a philosophical one that grows more meaningful with each reading. Beautifully written – and illustrated!

What a beautifully written little collection this is; 24 Reasons Why I Love You by Melchor Rosario is written as one would like to write to their love. This book is composed with 24 vignettes as it were, describing in detail the amount and quality of love that is present at any given time. Highly descriptive writing and exquisite composition take this book a level above others in a similar vein. Along with the sublime prose, the author has inserted art after every "reason", making the book a simply stunning testimony. This book would make an excellent gift for one that you love and for one you wish to keep. This lovely book also could serve as a reminder to treasure the love experience as it happens, noting the ephemeral and fleeting quality that so often accompanies the love experience.

If you’re newly in love this might be a great book for you. Melchior Rosario waxes eloquent about the joys of being lost in love, oblivious to everything else. The book is well written, and nicely organized. It’s a compact book on a big subject.

I enjoyed the imagery, the lofty language about love. Rosario certainly captures the magic and the mystery of the deep, transcendental love that connects two people together, for reasons that may not be logical or clear each person involved.

For me personally, the language could be a bit too abstract, so that I lose my focus. For example, the first line, “I love your for your subtle smile, an endearing asparagus that spreads from your mouth and gets tangled up in my being…” I’m still trying to process that one. But overall, the book was a fun exploration of the meaning and wonder of love.

Love is a beautiful thing, but most times when it is combined with kids, work, and friends it can get lost. Our author, Melchor Rosario, brings back the fundamentals to each and every relationship. I had to re-read a few parts; I think some things were explained too much it confused me at times.
Everyday life boggles everyone down a time or two and love can sometimes be put on the back burner. It is reasons like this we need to savor and appreciate every moment with our loved ones; whether they are your spouse, children or dear friends.
Love is the one thing that is forever constant in this world and while love can be lost it can also be found. This novel lets you explore all the possibilities.
